Privacy Policy

DeCerta Web5 Storage ("DeCerta", "we", "us", "our") is a decentralized document storage service operated by SciMatic Smart Solutions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the DeCerta web application at decerta.scimatic.net or the DeCerta Android app (net.scimatic.decerta), and how that information is stored, shared, and protected.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Wallet address & signatures

Authentication is performed via Web3 wallet signature. We store your public wallet address and the cryptographic signature you produce when signing in. We never receive or store your private key, mnemonic, or wallet password — those remain encrypted on your device only.

1.2 Documents you upload

Files you upload are split into encrypted packets. Metadata (document hash, file name, size, content type, visibility flag, timestamps) is stored in our database; the document hash and ownership reference are also recorded on a public blockchain — either BNB Smart Chain (chain ID 56) or SCI Network (chain ID 481), depending on which chain you used to upload — for integrity verification. Encrypted packet content is stored on our servers and indexed by document hash.

1.3 Camera & photos (Android app)

The DeCerta Android app requests the CAMERA permission only when you tap "Take Photo" inside the document upload flow, so you can capture a document with your device camera and upload it directly. Captured images are processed locally, hashed, encrypted, and uploaded as a document — the same as any file you would pick from storage. We do not access your camera in the background, and we do not collect or upload any image you do not explicitly choose to upload.

1.4 Technical data

Our web server logs standard HTTP request information (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) for the purpose of operating and securing the service. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for advertising or tracking.

2. How we use information

• To authenticate you via wallet signature.
• To store, retrieve, and verify your documents on the blockchain you chose at upload (BNB Smart Chain or SCI Network).
• To enforce visibility rules (private vs. public/marketplace) and access control.
• To operate, monitor, and secure the service against abuse.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your documents with third parties except where required by law or when you explicitly mark a document as public/listed on the marketplace.

3. On-chain data is permanent

Document hashes and ownership records written to the blockchain cannot be modified or deleted by us or by anyone else. Only the hash and the wallet address are stored on-chain — the document contents themselves are never written to the chain. This applies equally to BNB Smart Chain and SCI Network notarizations.

4. Storage & security

Document packets are encrypted before they leave your device. Server connections use TLS. Wallet credentials on the Android app are stored in the operating system's encrypted storage (EncryptedStorage) and never transmitted to our servers.

5. Your rights

You can delete a document at any time from the app or web interface. Deletion removes the encrypted packets from our servers and marks the record as deleted in the database. The on-chain hash record is immutable and remains as a verifiable historical reference.

You can disconnect your wallet and clear local data at any time from within the app's settings screen.

6. Children

DeCerta is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-app.
